Quantum Valley Ideas Laboratories (QVIL) is a not-for-profit applied research institution focused on cutting-edge research and development of quantum technologies. Quantum Valley Ideas Laboratories is tackling the ambitious goal of accelerating quantum technologies from proof-of-concept to real-world applicable, commercializable solutions.
The Quantum Navigation team at QVIL is seeking a postdoctoral fellow or scientist in quantum control for sensing. The quantum navigation project aims to apply cutting-edge control theory and device engineering to an excellent quantum sensor, a nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond. We require a postdoctoral fellow or scientist who will integrate optimal control theory, machine learning algorithms, and Bayesian estimation, with on-the-fly, adaptive quantum control of an experimental testbed. The scientifically and technically challenging project will be carried out with an interdisciplinary team of academic and industry researchers to facilitate rapid development in technology readiness and real-world testing.
The position will be for two years with the possibility of renewal. A successful applicant will join an interdisciplinary team of researchers from QVIL and the University of Waterloo and interface with industry representatives to translate proof-of-concept demonstrations to viable solutions.
This posting is in regards to an active position. QVIL does not use AI in its recruitment methods. Quantum Valley Ideas Lab is committed to diversity and inclusion.
